Talend MDM End-of-Life Migration
Talend Development and Consulting Services
Talend MDM Server reached end of life on December 31, 2024 (Qlik notice). There are no further releases, patches, or security fixes. If Talend MDM still holds your customer, product, supplier, or asset master data, you are running an unsupported system of record, and the risk grows with every Java, database, and operating-system update around it.
ETL Advisors has designed and built Talend MDM applications since the product's early releases, frequently combined with Talend ESB and Data Integration. We now use that depth to get organizations off Talend MDM safely.
What we do
- Estate assessment: inventory of data models, containers, views, triggers, processes, match rules, stewardship workflows, and the integration jobs feeding and consuming MDM
- Risk review: what breaks first if you keep running it, and what a contained "run it frozen" posture actually requires
- Model and rule extraction: exporting the XSD data models, match/survivorship rules, validation rules, and workflow definitions into vendor-neutral documentation and code
- Landing options: a modern MDM platform where a full replacement is justified, or "MDM-lite" (golden-record logic in the warehouse with dbt-style survivorship rules plus data-quality tooling) where it is not
- Phased cutover: parallel runs, record-level reconciliation, consumer-by-consumer switchover, and decommissioning
Our Talend MDM background
- Active data model design
- Data stewardship workflow architecture
- Trigger and process development
- Data governance and data quality rules
- Custom match rules and survivorship logic
- Data integration into and out of MDM
That history is why the migration is safe with us: we know where the logic hides in a Talend MDM installation.
