Modern Data Stack & ELT Services

We are Talend experts, and we know when Talend is not the answer. A good share of the estates we assess would be cheaper, simpler, and easier to staff on a warehouse-centric ELT stack, and an honest consultancy says so. ETL Advisors designs and builds modern data platforms, and we are unusually good at making them coexist with, or take over from, an existing Talend investment.

What we build

Cloud warehousing. Snowflake, Databricks, Google BigQuery, and Amazon Redshift: account and workspace design, cost governance, security and role models, and the loading patterns that keep compute bills predictable.

ELT with dbt. Transformation as versioned, tested SQL. We model warehouses with dbt, set up CI for models and tests, and help teams move business logic out of opaque job canvases into reviewable code.

Ingestion. Fivetran or Airbyte for the long tail of SaaS sources, and custom Talend or Python pipelines where a managed connector does not exist or is too expensive at your volume.

Orchestration. Airflow, Dagster, or Talend Management Console, chosen to match how your team already deploys software. We keep scheduling in one place instead of three.

Change data capture and streaming. Log-based CDC with Debezium-style pipelines, Kafka, and merge patterns in the warehouse that handle late-arriving data and soft deletes correctly.

How Talend fits

Talend is still a strong choice for complex row-level transformation, heavy Java logic, on-premises sources, and MDM-adjacent workloads. In a modern stack it usually plays one of three roles:

  • Ingestion engine feeding raw tables that dbt transforms downstream
  • Specialist processor for the jobs that genuinely need procedural logic, running alongside ELT
  • Migration source that is retired job by job as equivalent models come online

We have done all three, and we will tell you which one your estate calls for.

Typical engagements

  • Platform design and build for a first cloud warehouse
  • Talend-to-ELT migration: inventory, model design, parallel-run validation, cutover
  • dbt adoption for teams who already have a warehouse but no transformation discipline
  • CDC implementation for operational databases feeding analytics
  • Orchestration consolidation when schedules are scattered across TAC, cron, and cloud consoles
